Saturday, November 13, 2004 X'mas jamLast year's X'mas, I accidentally bought some really good jams. Yes, Jams... the ones you spread on the breads. In fact, I seldom use jams... maybe most of them are just too sweet and too artificial I don't know. Wandering around the Promenade Shopping Centre after some grocery-shopping at the first T & T supermarket in Ontario, I saw a warmly-decorated festival store in the centre of the mall. With the jam and cracker tasting samples placing at the front, I was immediately drew into this store. (ha... yes I'm like that.) After tasting a few ones, I've decided to go with the most common ones - Strawberry, Orange Marmalade, and Apple butter (250ml each). All these were produced in Niagara, Ont. All of them are really good, I personally love the Strawberry and Orange. There're lots of fruit pieces in the jam and they aren't too sweet. You can really taste the true fresh flavors ... My god... sometimes I would even eat them directly... Yea, you can say I'm a crazy woman. Let me check check... here's the name of the brand: Kurtz Orchards; from Niagara-on-the-Lake. They grew the fruits and made jams and preserves from them. I guess you may find that in the fruit-growing Niagara region coz I've never seen it elsewhere until lately (X'mas time again!) in Eaton Center. Just check it out if you wanna try. This time I'm trying the Red Cherry, which I think is a bit too sour. I still prefer Strawberry and Orange. Cheers!0 Comments: |
